The art of a jazz club isn’t lost, and the Domo Branch Trio with special guest, saxophonist Abdias Armenteros is bringing this art back to Long Island at the Jazz Lounge in the Goldsmith Atrium on Thursday, May 15th, in collaboration with our friends at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Domo Branch is a Portland-raised New Yorker, known for his musical talent, especially in relation to the modern jazz movement. Branch combines rhythm, emotion, and sophistication, creating his own groundbreaking twist on the jazz genre which explores themes such as identity, community, and the human experience. When he is not making music, Branch is a motivational speaker and educator, sharing his passion and positivity with the next generation of people.
Performing with Branch are Felix Moseholm, Matt Malanowski, and special guest, saxophonist Abdias Armenteros.
Moseholm is a double bassist from Copenhagen, Denmark, who moved to New York City to attend Juilliard at the age of 18. He has toured extensively, and most recently, appeared on Samara Joy’s Portrait in October of 2024.
Armenteros is a saxophonist from Miami, Florida, who now lives in New York City. He is a regular performer at local jazz clubs, in addition to being one of the most recent additions to the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. Armenteros also co-leads New Jazz Underground, which is an innovative contemporary jazz trio.
Malanowski has been a musician since the age of 4, and studied under masters at the Manhattan School of Music for Piano Performance. Malanowski has performed at a variety of prestigious venues across the globe, and most recently, released a debut album titled, “Solo – Volume One”, which is available on all streaming services.
These four performers are as talented as they are innovative, and we are so honored to witness them join forces and combine their immense musical talent. Our beautiful jazz lounge in the Goldsmith Atrium is the perfect place to host these musical powerhouses. Prepare for a night of incredible musical talent, electric energy, and a retelling of the jazz tradition. Tickets are on sale already, so check out the Tilles Center’s website, and prepare your jazziest attire for The Domo Branch Trio on Thursday, May 15th at 7:30 pm.
