Tilles Center is excited to announce that Patti LaBelle, also known as the Godmother of Soul, will be performing on Sunday, December 8.

LaBelle rose to fame in the sixties in the musical group Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. Many may know the song, Lady Marmalade which is one of their many hit songs. The group went on to split in the late seventies, leading her to launch her solo career as an artist. LaBelle won various awards for her talent including Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her album titled Burnin’.

Labelle’s talent doesn’t stop as a vocalist. She’s made numerous appearances on the big screen and on stage in the theatre. She’s starred in a few films like A Soldier’s Story (1984) and Beverly Hills Cop (1984). As for television, she’s starred on A Different World (1990) and even starred in American Horror Story in 2014. She also competed on Dancing With The Stars and The Masked Singer.

To say the least Patti has kept herself busy. Now 80, LaBelle is on her “8065 Tour” which is her way of celebrating her life of eighty years and her career which has lasted for sixty-five years.
