A Concert Celebrating Diversity- Broadway Perspectives

Broadway Perspectives: A Concert Celebrating Diversity is coming to Tilles Center on February 20th, 2025.

This once-of-a-lifetime experience highlights/ gives recognition to Black History Month while highlighting artists of color. This is a night of celebration, as we honor many talented individuals.

Meet the Cast!

This event was coordinated specifically for our venue. With that said, the audience can expect nothing but the best. New York casting director/producer Stephen DeAngelis will be on stage as well as the very talented actor and Amityville native Dennis Stowe (currently starring as Jafar in Broadway’s Aladdin) alongside many other talented actors of color.

The very talented Brennyn Lark, who is best known for her amazing performance in Broadway’s Les Misérables: The Broadway Musical (2014) will be taking the stage. Her impressive ability to conquer any role given to her is what makes her beloved by many. From Broadway to television (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Lark is sure to make a lasting impression!

In the Lion King Broadway Musical, Simba has been played by many over the years. One that stands out is Jelani Remy. Remy’s powerful voice and amazing stage presence will be taking the stage as well. His ability to play Simba with such gracefulness and talent goes to show why he was cast as the lead.

If you’re a Lion King fan then you’re in luck because another unbelievably talented actor from the show will be taking the stage too! Josh Tower, who also played Simba in the Lion King on Broadway, will be showcasing his extraordinary voice on our stage. Alongside his performance in the Lion King, Tower is also known for his role as Aaron Burr in Hamilton as well as many other Broadway appearances (School of Rock, Motown the Musical, Grease and Ragtime.)

Last but not least, the amazing Lorna Courtney will also be showcasing her talent on the stage! Courtney is best known for her role as Juliet in & Juliet, a musical that reimagines the story of the classic Shakespeare play Romeo & Juliet. Her acting in the play received praise as she continuously put on a show with her vocal ability and stage presence night-after-night. Seeing her take the stage is something you won’t want to miss!

The evening will be filled with Broadway fun for everyone as beloved artists come together to showcase musical selections from HamiltonAin’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the TemptationsThe Lion KingRagtimeThe WizThe Color PurpleChicagoThe Gershwins’ Porgy and BessAin’t Misbehavin’ ; Smokey Joe’s CaféShow BoatFive Guys Named Moe and more. If you weren’t convinced already then this sure had to do it!
